How To: Transfer Files with Recent Devices and History Room

Recent Devices, the History Room, and Seamless Sharing

Send Anywhere offers such efficient ways to share your files that it would be a shame if they were not utilized to their fullest. It is for this reason that today we are going to walk you through how to best utilize the Recent Devices and History Room features (don’t worry, we have pictures!).

From the main screen, you will see a section named “Recent Devices” (highlighted in red below) which lists all of the devices that you have sent a file to in the past.

Clicking on a recent device will bring you to the History Room. The History Room is where all file transfers between the two devices are listed. From here, you can view previous transfers or delete them. Additionally, in the bottom right hand corner, you can click the paper airplane which allows you to send more files to this device.

Clicking the paper airplane brings up the following image in which you can select all the files that you wish to send between the devices. After selecting the necessary files, click “Next”.

This will prompt a screen that allows you to add a comment to this file transfer. The reasoning for this is that when you click “Send”, the device will not generate a 6-digit key like it normally does but will push the files to the other device and give them the option to accept or deny. This message can give the receiving party more information on the contents of the file.

After you click Send, you will be brought back to the History Room where you can see your file transfer with the words “Not Yet Received” beneath it. Once the other party accepts the file transfer, it will read “Received”.
